This Christmas, your gifts can be wrapped with a little extra hope. Blood:Water and Craftcourse are joining forces at the Porter Flea Holiday Market to offer complimentary wrapping for all your awesome, hand-made gifts!
The two Nashville organizations will be accepting donations with all proceeds going to Blood:Water. Blood:Water has spent the past 10 years bringing access to clean water to 1 million people in Africa. Now, they are doing it again, bringing clean water access to The Next Million.
Your gift-wrapping donations will go toward helping people like Gertrude, who is one of The Next Million. Gertrude tirelessly works to provide water for her family. She rolls a big drum over two miles of bumpy, dirt terrain in 90 degree heat to reach the closest water source. It takes her 45 minutes to get there. Gertrude then fills the drum from a 30-foot deep well using a 1-gallon bucket on a rope. Once full, she turns around and rolls the then 440-pound drum back home. That’s how Gertrude gets water for her family, and she does it all with a smile. The biggest problem: the water she’s worked so hard for isn’t even clean.
So, stopping by the Blood:Water and Craftcourse gift wrapping table this weekend will be a win-win for everyone! Your gifts will be expertly wrapped by the very talented Mandy and Emily of Craftcourse, and your donations will bring clean water and hope to the people of Africa. There will be a booth set up during the Preview Market from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. Come by and let them wrap your gifts for you!
