Last month we welcomed two new faces to the Blood:Water team, and we can’t wait for you to get to know them! Over the next nine months, Abby Clark and Audrey Tamplin will be assisting in the development and marketing departments as a part of the Vision & Call program, and they are already doing a fabulous job. Read on to get to know the newest members of our team!

Abby Clark – Hartford, Connecticut

Meet Abby, our new development intern! She recently graduated from Cairn University with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Biblical Studies, and if you enjoy accents, you may want to get to know her better.

What made you want to apply for a Blood:Water internship?

Blood:Water Mission does exactly what I want to do long-term. I have had internships with similar organizations and my heart to aid those who do not have the resources to aid themselves has only grown while working with these organizations.

What is your dream job?

As of right now I would love to be a part time traveling / part time stationary liaison for an organization that executes holistic aid and support to underdeveloped communities.

What is your favorite book?

Anything by Lisa Terkeurst. I also love the book “Why sell Tacos in Africa” by Paul Oberschneider.

What is your favorite pastime?

Always spending time with people. I also love reading, playing and listening to music, drinking coffee and doing watercolor painting! (And playing with my bunny)

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza. I ate it three times last week.

Tell us one of your special quirks!

I make a lot of weird sounds and I talk with weird fake accents when I’m comfortable with someone.

Audrey tamplin – College Station, Texas

Meet Audrey, our new graphic design intern! She recently graduated from Belmont University with a degree in Multimedia Productions with a minor in Design Communications, and she’s kind of like the human version of Harlso the Balancing Hound.

What made you want to apply for a Blood:Water internship?

Blood:Water’s mission to not only partner with African organizations, but to ensure long-term solutions immediately got my attention.

What is your dream job?

To work in production design or graphic design for films!

What is your favorite book?

Depends on the day, but today, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

What is your favorite pastime?

Pastime before COVID-19: concerts and movie theaters!

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Anything from Baja Burrito.

Tell us one of your special quirks!

I can balance almost anything on my head.
