Last Tuesday, we hit the road with Show Hope for the sixth annual Hope in the Dark event in Knoxville, Tenn. As Miss East Tennessee Lexi White put it, it was a night “full of hope, promise, and joy. The Holy Spirit was present in every moment!”
We were fortunate to hear from Mike Hamilton, who along with his wife Beth, started the Hope in the Dark event, while he chatted on-stage with Jena Lee Nardella, co-founder of Blood:Water, and Mary Beth Chapman, co-founder of Show Hope, about the work being done by both organizations in Ethiopia.
And in the middle of an awesome performance by Tenth Avenue North, Steven Curtis Chapman even took to the stage for a special song!
We were thrilled to share such a special evening with wonderful friends in Knoxville, a community that continues to lead the way in creating lasting change in Africa.
Lexi summed it up perfectly after the event when she said she was “off to sleep in awestruck amazement of how truly incredible our Lord is and how he uses His followers for His glory!”
We all left feeling the exact same way.
