Dear Friends,
I am humbled and excited to return to an organization that has been very special to me since my first trip to Africa with Blood:Water several years ago.
I had the honor of getting to know many of you who have supported the work, as well as our partners on the ground who commit every day to make a lasting impact in the areas of WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) and HIV/AIDS.
More recently, I worked with one of our long-time partners, Ethiopia ACT. This unique and valuable experience allowed me to see firsthand not only how skilled these local partners are at addressing complex challenges, but also how much our partners rely on you to help sustain these vital programs.
I also watched Blood:Water ignite individuals and communities in the U.S. and Africa to join hands and do far more together than one person could do on his or her own.
This has been one of the great joys for me in working with nonprofits — including Blood:Water — over the last 10 years. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to build relationships and friendships that are rooted in something greater than ourselves. I look forward to continuing to do this.
I’m thrilled to be working together with you once again!
Blessings,
Jake Smith
Executive Director
