Here in the U.S. we are celebrating Memorial Day. We are so grateful for those who gave their lives for our country. At the same time, thousands of miles away, several countries on the continent of Africa are celebrating Africa Day.

Between 1958 and 1963, 17 African countries gained their independence from European colonisers. To celebrate, several states began celebrating African Liberation Day, including the country of Zambia where Blood:Water works to bring clean water access.
