The mission and vision of Blood:Water is inextricably tied to the understanding and belief that all human beings, whether in wholeness or brokenness, are born from the imagination and care of God, and inherently priceless in every way. 

Throughout our time supporting African led organizations, we have observed and experienced destructive stigma associated with disease and poverty, and we fight against the diminishing and demoralizing power of false characterizations and quick judgements based in fear. It is with grave moral seriousness that we condemn the acts of racism taking place not only in the United States, but also in many other parts of our world. 

We believe that the work of fighting racism belongs to all of us, as humans made in the image of God. We believe that racist actions born of racist ideas perpetuated by racist policies, both intentional and unintentional, systemic and individual, contradict the way that the Lord has instructed us to live.  

We exist to listen, learn, advocate and act on behalf of the marginalized, disenfranchised, and undervalued, both in accordance with the life of Jesus Christ, and as leaders in the work of affirming and supporting African-led international development.

There is necessary, hard, and even painful work to create equity for all, and to affirm human dignity and respect in order to create the opportunity for everyone to flourish in this diverse and beautiful world. To this end, we stand in solidarity as advocates to bring an end to inequity and injustice.  

We extend open arms and listening ears along with earnest prayers in order to create a better and more equitable future for all. We believe that through our actions as an organization we can make the world a better place for our brothers and sisters around the world regardless of what they look like or where they were born.
