We are excited to introduce you to Grace, our UNC intern who will be spending the summer working with our local partner in Marsabit, Kenya. She’ll be keeping us updated weekly on what she’s up to, and we just received our first update!

Blood:Water welcomed me as an intern from UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health this summer for a real-world field experience with local leaders in Kenya, and I am having the privilege to undertake this opportunity at one of its sponsored clinic, the Tumaini Clinic, in the northern region of Kenya in Marsabit.

It has been a long journey but it is with safe arrival in Marsabit, a flurry of open arms and warm smiles (and a bit of jet lag) that I begin my time here. Over the next weeks, I look forward to sharing with you all the impact of the work here, the stories, and the warm faces of Marsabit, Kenya.
