It’s been a long and… interesting summer, to say the least. Children have been home now longer than summer vacations usually warrant, and this has presented a challenge to parents who still want to provide them with fulfilling, enriching experiences.

We are glad that you’re interested in helping others and empowering sub-Saharan African individuals who are ready to make their lives better. So if you’re looking for a way to raise money for charity and contribute to the fight against the water crisis AND give your children the ability to work in service of others, we have a few ways that may be helpful for you!

Lemon:Aid Stands

One cool way to get the family involved is through our Lemon:Aid stands. For $10, you can get a kit to set up a stand to sell lemonade around your neighborhood to raise money for our partners and those they serve as they seek to provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions.

The KIDDO Campaign

KIDDO, one of our primary fundraising campaigns, is a program created just for kids (bloodwater.org/kiddo). We’ve had students, teachers, and families partner with us by creating KIDDO fundraising pages with great success! That page will walk you through the steps of creating a fundraising page.

In doing this, your kids will have the opportunity to use their ideas to make a difference. They can try anything from a bake sale to a car wash, to running a 5K – the possibilities are limited only to their imaginations! And every cent counts: just $40 is enough to provide one person with clean water for life. After creating the page, you can share it with friends and family through social media, email, or word-of-mouth to raise awareness!

Water:Walks

Suppose you’re interested in doing an event once things get back to normal. In that case, many schools and groups like to do a Water:Walk, which would give everyone a chance to connect with the experience of children in Africa by experiencing walking for water themselves. See our Water:Walk guide.
