Yesterday was the first day of fall! As we move into a new season, we want to honor the epic summer fundraisers that supported Blood:Water with their hard work and creativity.
We were blown away by all the Lemon:Aid fundraisers who participated this summer, and it’s impossible to highlight all the great work they did! However, two in particular really stood out:
Laura Metcalf and the families of Lambton County made a Lemon:Aid stand for clean water in Africa and raised over $500. Lambton County may sound close by, but it’s actually in Ontario! It is nice to see that, even if Canada is our next-door neighbor, people care about bringing clean water to Africa all over the world!
Kate Forbis went to great lengths to advertise her Lemon:Aid stand! She even made a video about it. It seems her effort paid off; Kate raised over $1,200 for clean water in Africa!
As for The Walter Project, it has been our biggest summer yet! First Baptist Church in London, Ky., chose to support Blood:Water through their VBS ministry this summer. The kids filled up an entire jerry can full of change and cash to make a difference for our friends in Africa. And, because the children were so successful, they opened up the opportunity to donate to the entire congregation and raised over $1,200!
These are just a handful of examples that show how blessed we are by our fundraisers! Are you interested in getting involved and becoming a fundraiser? Well, here are just a few ways you can Be the Movement!
If you have any questions about becoming a fundraiser for Blood:Water, or need help setting up your fundraising page, I’d love to hear from you at [email protected].
Happy fall, y’all!
