Global Standards for Quality Health-Care Services for Adolescents: Volume 3
Overview
This document is part of the Global standards for quality health-care services for adolescents: a guide to implement a standards-driven approach to improve the quality of health-care services for adolescents. It is one of four volumes published separately, which include:
- Volume 1: Standards and criteriaÂ
- Volume 2: Implementation guide
- Volume 3: Tools to conduct quality and coverage measurement surveys to collect data about compliance with the global standards
- Volume 4: Scoring sheets for data analysis
Volume 3 provides practical data collection instruments designed to evaluate health-care facility compliance with global adolescent health standards. It includes seven distinct tools for measuring the quality of facility-based care—such as adolescent client exit interviews, manager questionnaires, facility inventories, client-provider interaction observations, and support staff interviews—alongside two community-level tools to assess population-wide service coverage and access. Emphasizing a multi-perspective, standards-driven approach, the guide assists national and district health planners in identifying implementation gaps, guiding supportive supervision, tracking service utilization, and utilizing structured point systems and aggregate scores to drive continuous quality improvement in adolescent health services.
