This manual is designed to build the capacity of mentors and facilitators to deliver the Girl Shine Life Skills Curriculum, which addresses topics such as gender-based violence (GBV), sexual and reproductive health, life skills, and strengthening social assets. 

Its components include:

• Core principles and safe-space approaches (ensuring mentees feel secure, respected, and able to share) 
• Facilitation methods and participatory techniques (shifting from lecture style to interactive, girl-led sessions) 
• Adapting content to local contexts, group dynamics, literacy levels, and girls’ lived experiences 
• Refresher trainings, coaching, and supervision systems to support mentors/facilitators over time 
• Monitoring & Evaluation tools that mentors and facilitators can use (session feedback, observation tools, knowledge check-ins) 

The training is intended not only to give content knowledge but also to reflect the same respectful, empowering approach that mentors are expected to use with girls—so the tone and structure of the manual model the program philosophy itself. Overall, it is a key capacity-builder for frontline actors who will directly shape how adolescent girls experience the program and its impact.
