We Are The Change: Capacity-building curriculum for AGYW-serving and -led community organisations

This curriculum is tailored for CBOs led by or working with adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), particularly those addressing HIV and sexual and reproductive health issues. CBOs are vital to the HIV response, leveraging their deep understanding of community needs, swift responsiveness, and invaluable local knowledge.

Despite their significance, CBOs often face challenges that impact their growth and sustainability. These include gaps in organizational development (e.g., governance, planning, finance, human resources, and monitoring and evaluation), difficulties in resource mobilization, and limited capacity to design and implement evidence-based interventions for AGYW. Additional support is often needed in advocacy, gender equity, and human rights integration.

To address these challenges, this curriculum offers a structured approach to capacity strengthening through the AGYW-CAT and nine dedicated modules:
