20 Years of
Lasting Change
Blood:Water is thrilled to be celebrating two decades of steadfast collaboration with our partner organizations! This year we are joyfully honoring the incredible work these partners have done to provide safe water, HIV care and support, HIV prevention, and end health disparities in their communities.
Where we’ve been
Founded in 2004 by GRAMMY-award winning band Jars of Clay and activist Jena Lee Nardella, Blood:Water began as a call to personalize the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa.
Through creative, grassroots efforts of tens of thousands of individuals seeking to make a difference, we have raised more than $46 million to support our partners.
BECAUSE OF YOUR SUPPORT AND THE DILIGENT WORK OF OUR PARTNERS, INCREDIBLE IMPACT IS BEING MADE:
Active Partners.
Historical Partners.
$30M
amount deployed to support the work of local partners
33
partner organizations with WASH and HIV/AIDS programming
~1M
people who now have access to safe water
+700K
people who have received HIV prevention services
Over the last 20 years,
a lot has changed…
But one thing has
not changed:
our mission to end health disparities, one drop at a time, through long-term and intentional organizational strengthening and flexible financial support of local organizations.

STORIES OF LASTING CHANGE FROM OUR PARTNERS
“Blood:Water allowed Drop of Water to see the gaps within the organization. We were asking ourselves very, very critical questions. Through those discussions we were able to fill those gaps and move forward in a more structured, formal approach, which we really needed to attract funding and ensure sustainability.”
– Ethiopis Tadesse, Drop of Water Board of Directors Chairperson
